'Castles' Agricultural Shed on Eday, Orkney
'Castles' Agricultural Shed was built in 2002 and is sited behind the cottage in an area dug deeply into the hillside to protect it from the elements and to stop it being a ‘blot on the landscape’. It has mains electric, hot and cold water and 14’ (4.2mtrs) high double doors and eaves to allow access to the tallest vehicles or plant. The floor is smooth polished concrete throughout and lighting is via 5 400watt metal halide lamps to give almost daylight lighting. There is also additional internal and external lighting and built into one corner of the shed adjacent to the personal door is an office, small kitchen, and a W.C. There are numerous 13amp sockets around the shed plus one 16amp socket and to the side of the shed is a level storage area approximately 80’ x 40’.
